How Much Does It Cost to Add EV Charging?

However, if you just need Level 1 charging, you might not need any equipment, as it can be plugged into a standard 120-volt outlet. If anything, you may need to buy a replacement charger, which is usually around $300 to $600. 

Level 2 charging is a bit more expensive. For instance, most people pay anywhere from $600 to $1,200 for a 240-volt outlet, a Level 2 charger, and a wall mount. However, the costs are often worth the faster charging speeds and convenience for renters.
