Meet Ruth Zwick, Office Administrator
Ruth is a 2019 graduate of the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities, with a BA in Italian Studies. She also has minors in English Literature and Teaching English as a Second Language (TESL). Her property management experience began several years ago when she worked as a leasing agent in Minneapolis. After relocating to Maryland, Ruth took a position as a legal assistant at a small law firm in Baltimore. After outgrowing that role, she made the leap back to property management. Her passion and enthusiasm for the housing industry led to her current position as the Office Administrator at Bay Property Management Group.
A Day in the Life of the Office Administrator
Ruth’s primary role as the Office Administrator is to oversee all administrative needs in our Laurel, MD Office. Working directly with the property management team, Ruth helps ensure compliance in several jurisdictions across Southern Maryland and Washington DC. During a typical day, Ruth interacts with tenants, owners, other staff, and vendors with the goal of providing excellent customer service. Typically, you will find her following up on emails, processing rental license applications, and helping train other administrative employees. On occasion, Ruth also acts as a representative of BMG in court hearings or ongoing legal matters. When asked what her favorite part of her job was, Ruth responded –
“My favorite part of the job is being a part of such an awesome team! I love problem-solving and take a lot of joy in working with the property management team to help our owners navigate the licensing process and other bureaucratic processes.”

Getting to Know Ruth Outside of the Office
- When not in the office, what do you like to do? – In my own time, I enjoy museums and art, parks and gardens, good food, textiles, interior design, and spending time with my family and friends!
- What are three words to describe yourself? – Analytical, Gregarious, and a Philomath
- Do you have a favorite movie? – Howl’s Moving Castle or Amelie
- Name something from your bucket list – Learn a third language
- If you could learn to do anything, what would it be? – If I could learn to do anything, I would learn more general contracting skills! I love old buildings and would love to be able to renovate/restore them myself. I greatly admire people who work with their hands.
- Describe your dream vacation – A trip back to Italy with my family to spend time in some of the many beautiful cities and coastal towns, enjoy delicious food, and visit with friends I made while studying at the University of Bologna.
