Christopher Swade, Senior Property Manager

Christopher started his career with Bay Property Management Group just over three years ago and currently serves as Senior Property Manager in our Laurel office. After graduating from high school, Christopher spent a decade in manufacturing as a structural welder and maintenance mechanic. With persistence and personal development, he was able to climb his way from small, locally owned shops to large Fortune 500 manufacturing companies. While he began his career as an entry-level mechanic, he was able to rise through the ranks, eventually managing crews of employees. Christopher utilized ongoing training and skill development opportunities to facilitate personal and professional growth within his crews.

How Christopher Came to Property Management

After years of working in manufacturing, Christopher shifted careers, moving into real estate. He worked closely with investors, aiding in their business of buying, flipping, and selling property. His customer service skills and managerial experience began at a young age, enabling him to realize success as he ventured into his new industry. Christopher’s knowledge of mechanical components, standardized process development, and real estate allowed him to pave a positive path into the field of property management.

A Day in the Life of Christopher Swade

Christopher’s goal is to provide superior customer service in maintenance coordination and employee development. He’s a tried-and-true problem-solver, frequently working to streamline operations in a way that creates unmatched employee experience and customer satisfaction. He’s highly involved in the growth and development of BMG’s operations, continuously looking for technological advantages that can make Bay Property Management Group the greatest property management company on the East Coast.

Christopher’s typical day involves resolving maintenance concerns and handling customer service experiences. He also assists in the coordination of property turnover and helping other employees accomplish their daily tasks. In addition to training new employees to reach their highest possible potential, Christopher works side-by-side with the office president to ensure the office continues to operate effectively in the face of BMG’s rapid growth.

Why Christopher Loves Being Part of the BMG Team

Christopher enjoys developing new systems and operations to assist the company, its employs, and the customers BMG serves. He considers his position a win-win because he gets to see the results that helped improve his job in ways that also help others.

He enjoys the fact that the BMG management team drives every person to see their true potential. He says every employee is treated as an individual, which drives the customer service experience within the Bay Property Management culture to be superior above its competitors. He lives by the following motto:
“Treat your employees well and they’ll do great work, which creates success all-around for both the company and the customer.”

When asked about the best piece of advice for those considering entry into the property management field, Christopher says, “Know that when customers are experiencing hardship or are displeased with an unfortunate situation, such as mechanical failure in their home, the frustration they convey to you is not about you; it’s about the situation. Don’t take it personally.”

Outside of BMG

When Christopher’s not in the office, he’s traveling or spending time with family. As a self-proclaimed adrenaline junkie, he loves to frequent amusement parks, so don’t be surprised if you catch him in the front seat of a famous roller coaster.
