Bay Property Management Group is searching for a Controller to come onboard our growing company! This individual will be responsible for overseeing 10 staff members, reviewing bank accounts on a daily basis, overseeing credit cards for all employees, health care, 401k, preparing monthly financials, and reviewing payroll. We are targeting someone who has at least 3 years of management experience, is hyper-organized, and is good at working in a fast-paced environment.

Tasks and Responsibilities of the Role

The following job responsibilities are intended to reflect the major responsibilities of the job but do not describe the minor duties or other responsibilities that may be assigned from time to time.

  • Management of a 10 person accounting team
  • Establish and enforce company wide accounting policies
  • Serve as the lead Admin on all platforms that we use (Bank, Credit Cards, Quickbooks)
  • Oversee the year-end 1099s process
  • Oversee the accounts payable process for the company
  • Develop and ensure compliance with internal controls
  • Review and manage the annual budget process for the company
  • Evolve, maintain, and manage all accounting systems
  • Work alongside department heads to produce necessary reports
  • Frequently interact with various levels of management and other departments
  • Special projects and other duties, as assigned by management

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel skills and Quick Books knowledge, and AppFolio experience a plus
  • Background in accounting or financial management
  • An aptitude for learning new systems is a strong plus
  • Background in accounting or financial management
  • Minimum of 3 years accounting management experience
  • Prior property management experience is a plus
  • Exceptional attention to detail while also maintaining a strategic mindset
  • Consistently improve processes and provide accurate, timely financials to owners
  • Strong organizational, time management, and project management skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
