The Juneteeth Music Festival celebrates the rich culture of one of the area’s oldest African American Communities, Historic East Towson. Besides enjoying a day of great music, all proceeds from the festival go to the Northeast Towson Improvement Association, which benefits the Historic East Towson community and its residents. Towson Town Center has a lot to offer the discerning shopper already, but come join a host of local vendors for the Summer Market. Here, shoppers can browse local products, jewelry, fashion, and handmade health and wellness products from tons of small business owners. This annual 4-mile run/walk event is a great way to enjoy the Independence Day festivities with the whole family. The route begins and ends at the Towson courthouse and follows the parade route, and takes runners through the beautiful Towson University campus. Even the kids can join in on the 1776 Family Fun Run, which equals 1,776 feet. The 4-mile run begins at 8:30 am, and do not miss the parade that begins at 10:30 am.
Where to See the 4th of July Fireworks Near Baltimore
After over a year of battling the pandemic and quarantine, individuals and families are eager to enjoy the summer holidays with family and friends. This fourth of July, many cities are resuming their parades and outdoor festivities, but what about fireworks? Seeing a giant fireworks display is one of the most anticipated summer activities in Baltimore. Check out the information below on where you and your family can enjoy the upcoming holiday.
- Baltimore City – Unfortunately, Baltimore City has decided to cancel the 2021 fireworks show citing continued pandemic concerns. While the city promised to find other ways to bring excitement back, no plans are currently in place.
- Baltimore County – Although Baltimore County is still finalizing its celebration plans, previous Fourth of July festivities have been at Oregon Ridge Park.
- Catonsville – Catonsville’s 4th of July Committee tentatively scheduled this year’s fireworks for July 3. However, this relies on the committee finalizing all of the required permits. Be sure to check out The Fourth of July parade at 3 p.m, Family Fun Fest at 6:30 p.m., and fireworks display at 9:30 p.m.
- Dundalk – Dundalk Heritage Fair takes place from July 2nd to July 4th and includes a traditional parade and fireworks display scheduled for 9:15 p.m. on July 5th. For more information, including the full schedule, check out the Dundalk Heritage Fair.
