Lisa Allen, Washington, D.C. Property Manager

Lisa is a Property Manager in Washington, D.C. who started with Bay Property Management in January of 2020. She has been working in Property Management for over 25 years, mainly in Multifamily Housing, with a focus on sales & acquisitions. Lisa held such positions as Asset Manager, Regional Trainer, Regional Manager & Property Manager in several other states such as California, Arizona, Georgia, Virginia & North Carolina.

A Day in the Life of Lisa Allen

Lisa’s primary role is to superior customer service in maintenance coordination and to find immediate solutions to problems before they become more significant issues. She works hand in hand with the maintenance technicians, the leasing team, and other managers to make sure our units are rent ready and safe for our existing tenants. Each department works together to implement new policies and procedures; this is what sets them apart from the competition. Our number one goal is to provide an excellent service to both our owners and our tenants. She is continually researching new and better ways that we can deliver on this goal. Lisa is very actively involved in addressing compliance issues, managing insurance claims, financials, IT, operations, and any significant change that occurs at the company. She also works very closely with the President of our Laurel office to ensure that both offices are running similarly and are meeting our performance and financial objectives.

Lisa is typically working from her office the vast majority of the day running reports, following up on email, meeting with managers, and game planning for future goals and objectives. There are days and weeks where there are constant meetings, calls, and interviews, depending on what we have going on during that particular time.

Why Lisa Loves Being Part of the BMG Team

Her favorite part of being on the BMG team is that every day is different, and there is always a new situation that presents itself. Just when you think you’ve seen it all…you haven’t. Lisa is also developing new systems and operations to assist the company, it’s employees, and its customers. She considers that a win for herself because she gets to see results that have helped improve her job in ways that also help others.

Lisa’s Advice for Those Considering Entering the Property Management Field

Be prepared for a lot of things to happen that are entirely out of your control every day. Just when you think everything is going great, you will get a call, email, or text with a crisis. Expect a crisis to typically occur first thing Monday morning or last thing Friday afternoon.

Outside of the office, Lisa enjoys traveling, going to the beach, boating, live music, and hiking with her three dogs.
