Meet Griffin Wills, Director of Business Development
Griffin joined Bay Property Management Group three years ago as the Director of Business Development and brought a wealth of real-world experience to his current role. Before coming to BMG, Griffin was on the other side of the business, managing apartment complexes. While attending York College of Pennsylvania, Griffin developed an interest in hotel management, which eventually led to the property management field. After completing his degree in sport management, he pursued a career in property management. He worked for more than 10 years before joining the team at Bay Property Management Group of Laurel.
A Day in the Life of the Director of Business Development
As the Director of New Business Development, Griffin wears several hats. That said, the bulk of his responsibility is introducing property owners to the company and getting them set up with the various departments. He evaluates properties to provide a comprehensive rental analysis and helps owners with the steps needed to get their home rent ready. This includes both legal requirements (rental licenses, lead paint certifications, etc.) as well other things such as suggesting turnover items (painting, flooring, etc.).
Griffin’s schedule can vary greatly from day to day, but that is what keeps it interesting! Most days, you can find him driving to meet prospective owners, getting marketing photos, inspecting new vacant properties, providing rental analyses, or processing paperwork at the office. When asked what his favorite part of his job was, Griffin responded:
“I enjoy meeting new owners and seeing the different properties around Maryland. I get to see some cool homes and features in unique communities.”

“This field is vast; there are many different types of roles you can have. For those in property management already, find the part of the field you enjoy. Then you will be able to find a position that you can grow into. I would have never thought of my position before I started looking for opportunities outside of my immediate grasp.”
Getting to Know Griffin Outside of the Office
When you’re not in the office, what do you like to do?
- I enjoy traveling to new cities and music festivals. I’m also a huge sports fan (Go Ravens and O’s!) and read many books related to baseball history.
Name something off your bucket list.
- One year I would like to travel to England for Glastonbury Music Festival.
If you had to eat one meal every day for the rest of your life, what would you pick?
- An authentic quesadilla.
