Meet Alexus Harris, Property Manager for BMG StanCorp Baltimore
Alexus joined Bay Management Group in early 2025 as a Property Manager for Baltimore, MD properties. She brings 10 years of experience in property management, ensuring the overall operations of properties run smoothly. This includes overseeing the rental process to keep homes occupied, addressing the needs and concerns of current tenants, and making sure properties remain in compliance with all regulations and standards. It’s a balance of customer service, administrative oversight, and operational management.
Alexus is responsible for making sure everything with the property is running smoothly. This includes making sure homes are being rented, ensuring current tenants’ needs are met in their home, while also making sure they are in compliance with property needs.
A Day in the Life of Alexus
Alexus’s day typically starts at 7:30 a.m. A typical day for her involves a mix of administrative tasks and hands-on responsibilities. She starts by checking emails and prioritizing tasks for the day. Throughout the day, she manages schedules, handles tenant escalations, and ensures that operations run smoothly. She also coordinates with team members or vendors when needed, and makes sure all necessary documentation and reports are up to date. Each day can vary, but staying organized and adaptable is key to keeping everything on track.
Her favorite part of the job is helping people feel at home and truly love where they live. She enjoys being able to support residents and show them that her goal is to ensure they feel comfortable, safe, and valued in their living space.
“One thing I wish people knew about my job is that it’s not as easy as it might seem,” Alexus shares. “Many people assume it’s simple, but in reality, it involves a great deal of responsibility. Managing how tenants live—ensuring their safety, comfort, and compliance with property rules—requires strong decision-making, attention to detail, and empathy. It’s a role that carries significant weight and impact on people’s daily lives.”

When she’s not working, Alexus loves to relax and spend time with her family and dogs. A bucket list item she hopes to check off soon is visiting Hawaii.
If she could meet anyone, living or dead, Alexus would choose her grandfather. He passed away before she was born, but she’s always heard wonderful stories about him. She’d love the chance to experience his personality firsthand and learn more about what life was like through his eyes. Her favorite book is Atomic Habits. And if she could dis-invent one thing? Traffic jams—imagine all the extra time we’d have if cars could just zoom through without stopping!
When asked to describe herself in three words, Alexus says: Empathetic, Responsible, and Driven—qualities that make her a valued member of the BMG team!

“The best piece of advice I can offer is to be patient, pay close attention to detail, and always try to put yourself in other people’s shoes,” Alexus explains. “Empathy goes a long way in this field, especially when dealing with residents’ concerns.
